  1. Flop: I'd probably take the lead and just bet out ourselves- that way you get two ways to win the hand! (ie he folds, or we make a straight).

    Your BIG mistake was on the river. As we discussed, we very very rarely want to call one street, then lead the next. Lets look at why:

    On the turn, you elect to check call in order to make money from bluffs and minimise your losses VS nutted hands such as these. This is absolutely fine and very good poker (maximising profit the times we are ahead, minimising losses the times we are behind).

    By leading the river, you do the opposite of the above. You allow any bluffs to fold (minimising your profit), and OOP you allow nutted hands to raise (maximising your losses). This is TERRIBLE. Just check-call the river!

    As played, once you do bet (and as an exercise, try and think of a worse hand than yours that would bet the turn and then call the river) you must fold to the all in. HELLOOOOOOOOO- ALL IN = STREGNTH!!!!!!!
