There's Hope

Now Then
Part of my poker coaching deal is that I have to review my hands after every 35 minute session, pull them to pieces and post the good, bad and the ugly ones on here.
So I started this session with with the fear of having to show you fellow poker heads my fuck ups, so I am ever so happy that I won this first hand - Comments please.

Take a look at the KK hand below and tell me what you would have done and the reasoning.

Otherwise I was quite pleased with the way I played this session.

  1. QQ- the flat PF is fine depending on his stats. If he's over like 21/16 then you should 4bet for value. I like your flat on the flop and turn (maximise value from bluffs, minimise losses from kk/aa), but I don't like your river shove. Why? Well, I just can't imagine many worse hands that will call you. Once the T pairs, I'd most likely think that he has AA/KK and is now afraid of you having trip Ts. As such, this bet is more of a bluff than a value bet, and you should just check.

KK- OBVIOUSLY we're stacking here on the flop. You didn't need to bet so big, betting 1/2 in 3bet pots will encourage more spew from villain. He doesn't even have a full 100bb stack, and a general rule is that for 100bbs, in a 3bet pot, we're simply never folding an overpair. What hands beat you? TT? Highly unlikely compared to all the worse hands than yours that play this way. Call and be super happy.......
